•   CONTENTION   -   INGAME STATS

At the moment, everything is in reference to the Japanese game. Although the stats are identical to the English version, it's more so just the way I name the gambits will be a bit different than the English version. Do note that I don't translate things into other languages well. Basch's ingame battle stats are as followed. The stats are the same whether Basch is playable character or as a guest:

      ▏▎   COMPARED TO OTHER CHARACTERS

Since Basch's strengths are in his attack strength and HP he is ideal to be one of the main attackers of the party. Although his MP, vitality, and speed are on the low side, when put into consideration the type of character Basch is, it is normal. As Basch has one of the highest attack strengths of the party it seems natural to assume that his magic attacking is lower than the others. Suprisingly, this isn't true because Balthier has the lowest magic attack of the group.

      ▏▎   BASCH IN THE TUTORIAL
When you start the game, your main character is Reks during the the eve of the peace treaty signing at Nalbina fortress. As Reks is a newer soldier, it is Basch as he was a captain of the Knights of Order who guides him through. Since it is a tutorial, the game does everything in favour of the new player who is getting used to the controls. If you are familiar with the battle system, or if it isn't your first time playing the game, you may notice that as Basch and the other soldiers probably get things finished very quickly. In other words, as Reks you basically do not have to input any commands to win battles until the game switches the main character to Vaan while he is killing rats in the sewer.

The following are Basch's statistics, gambits, and equipment while he is the tutorial leader. The only differences between Basch in the tutorial and Basch as playable or guest character is that at level 20 he has more HP, MP, and vitality.

▏▎   BASCH AS A GUEST MEMBER

You receive Basch as a guest member of your party when escaping Nalbina prison. Depending on what level Vaan is, Basch's initial level will be two levels higher than his. Initially Basch will be fighting bare handed, but halfway through the Barheim Passage, Basch gets equipped with some armour and a sword. In general, Basch's stats as a guest member are identical to when he is a playable character. However, slight occurs to his hp and mp once he gets the equipment halfway through. The following are Basch's gambits and equipment while he is a guest member.

▏▎   INITIAL SETUP AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER

Basch becomes a permanent member of your party shortly after Vaan delivers the Knights of Order sword from Old Dalan to Vossler. Basch's initial level is two higher than Vaan's. Also, the amount of license points Basch has is the total of what Vaan has already have, whether it be used or unused, subtracted by 100.
