Dialogue in role playing games are vital to the story. Initially it was text which the player had to read themselves, but eventually games started having having voice actors to act out the dialogues. The voice is vital to the character because even if it's just a slight vocal gesture, it can greatly effect how that character is portrayed. For instance, the director of Devil May Cry 3, Hideaki Itsuno, went as far as getting actors who could do both the motion acting and voice acting to ensure that everything would be as natural as possible. As for Final Fantasy XII, the voice acting and motion acting of the characters were done by different people. Although Square Enix didn't go as far as Capcom did with Devil May Cry 3, the fluidity of the voices along with the way the characters acted in the game was almost flawless.

Koyama Rikiya (小山力也) is the voice actor for Basch in the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XII. He is probably most famous for the Japanese dub of the character Dr.Doug Ross in ER which he proceeded to be mainly chosen to do the dubs for other characters in film that George Clooney has played. Another television dub role he plays includes the character of Jack Bauer of 24. In anime he's appeared as characters in D.N Angel, Keroro Gunsou, Naruto, and Eyeshield21. Other videogame voice acting roles he has done in the past include Urick from Drakengard 2 and Torn from Jack II. Something interesting to note is that Koyama Rikiya also provides the voice of Crush in Finding Nemo.

Keith Ferguson is the voice actor for the English localization of Final Fantasy XII. More things about the voice actor will be added later....
