Armour
The armour of a Japanese warrior is supposed to represent their family and/or a family leagacy. Everything that is on the armour represents something 'personal' for example a personal leather or silk pattern which sometimes included personal inscriptions or themes. The armour are to designed to that the warrior could stand out from everyone else because they want the enemies to see them.
The way the armour was designed was based on the earlier days of the warriors where the main weapon of choice was a bow and arrow. The armour was designed for both the warrior and the horse which they were riding on.
