Ryosuke is a calm and humble person who usually tends to keep his true feelings to himself. The only people Ryosuke expresses himself freely is to his cousin, Tsugumi, and his brother, Keisuke. Although Ryosuke is known for his undefeated winning streak and is popular all over the Gunma perfecture, he does not brag about it but rather he 'stays true' to himself and lives on a normal life without over exaggerating the bliss of winning. Even though Ryosuke doesn't talk much about racing preparations publically, he is also quite competitive like his brother. He might even be more competitive and more determined to win than his brother, for he has to defend his title for being undefeated. After Ryosuke's loss to Takumi, Ryosuke was willing to admit his defeat, even to his old rival Kyouichi. Not only was Ryosuke willing to admit his defeat, Ryosuke was also willing to help Takumi expand his driving skills by teaching him.

Throughout the series, when not with his racing teams, Ryosuke is usually found alone contemplating or doing something on his computer or laptop. It is usually when he is alone that he conjures up brilliant strategic plans against his opponents and for his team's opponents. Ryosuke is most likely the one who established the Project D website.

Ryosuke is also a team leader. Although his brother is in both of his racing teams, he doesn't give him a special treatment. He treats everyone equally and helps everyone achieve their goals and perform their best.
