Like everyone else in the series, everyone participates in at least one race. Ryosuke, however, started his racing career before Initial D started. So, here is a list of races which were mentioned in both the manga and the anime. Please note that these summaries are very brief because i don't feel like rewatching and rereading the racing parts of the manga and anime. Lan Evo III VS FC3S This race took place before Initial D took place however there are flashbacks to this race during the other Kyouichi Sudou and Ryosuke Takahashi race in Second Stage. Location: Akagi Winner: Ryosuke Takahashi AE86 VS FC3S Here is my semi-baised summary on this race. Ryosuke should have won. I believe that he knows the limit of his car tires. It's stupid how he lost because of his front tires wearing out. The End. I can go on and on about this but i'll keep my rants to myself. Location: Akina Winner: Ryosuke for skill, Takumi for the physical winning of the race. Lan Evo III VS FC3S A rematch which was promised after their first race. Since their last race, Kyouichi's skill has drastically improved however while Kyoichi was in the process of butchering the AE86's engine, Ryosuke was able to pick up his weakness, left turns. During the race, Ryosuke races differently than usual. Ryosuke usually lets his opponents go first, but in this race Ryosuke was infront of the Evo III. Kyouichi's Evo III does get ahead of the FC3S, but since Ryosuke figured out his weakness he used it against him. Location: Akagi Winner: Ryosuke Takahashi AE86 VS FC3S [ Initial D Third Stage: The Movie ] Please note that this race did not appear in the manga. This race took place because of Takumi 'finding himself' before he joins Ryosuke's new team which would later be called Project D. (The name Project D is not mentioned in the movie.) Ryosuke first invites Takumi to join his team and he gave him as much time Takumi needs to decide wether he'll join the team or not. In the end of the movie, Takumi challenges Ryosuke before deciding wether he is going to join this new team. During this race, the remarkable thing about it, Ryosuke realized that he did not reach his limits during his first race against the AE86. He realizes there's more to achieve. Takumi, however, realizes how great of a racer Ryosuke is. In the end, Takumi does join this team. Location: Akagi Winner: tie - + back |
