After the 'White Comet Era, Ryosuke established a group of 'elite' drivers who resided in the Gunma prefecture named the Redsuns. All the members also attend the Gymkhana Rally which is a competition for amateur racers to test moves such as drifting and agility. The Redsuns' main goal, Operation Kanto, is to challenge every team and break every record set in Japan so they could claim that they're the best drivers in Japan and have the names 'Redsuns' and 'Takahashi' to become legendary in the areas they race in.
Note that the Gymkhana Rally really does exists and is recognized by the Japanese Automobile Federation
