‡ SITE HISTORY
The idea of making a site dedicated to Sakurazuka Seishirou came to me a few years ago while I was reading articles about this intriguing character created by Clamp. I do realize that the character Seishirou is long gone and nothing dramatic will happen to him in the story however that didn't stop me from the creation of "Ephemeral Love". I finalized the idea of making a Seishirou fansite by actually making it into a project which would be due sometime during the Winter of 2003. Like most of my sites, will I be making a site that will compliment this one? Will I consider making a site about Sumeragi Subaru? My answer would be most likely no because at the moment I personally don't find much interest in Subaru and I would probably want to revise this site a few times before making a new one. Another question one might ask would be will I be planning on buying any of the artbooks or manga anytime soon. Yes to the manga, but no to the artbook. I find buying the manga more 'worth it' than buying the artbook because there are tons of scans of the artbook in the internet. I don't have much motivation in buying something I've already seen a million times. If the artbooks were on sale, I would consider buying it though because then I would be able to scan the pictures myself to put on the site and I can scan the pictures in the size I would find useful for layout making.

Webmistress
I decided to make a little section for me on this page after this site has been open for almost one year. For a while i've had a fondness for Seishirou, Tokyo Babylon and X series but never realized how much i was obsessed with it. The other manga/anime series i'm particularly fond of is Initial D. I know that when i see something of that series at the mall, i buy it (if it's not overpriced). Where i live, you can only buy authentic Japanese Tokyo Babylon and X things once a year however it is always overpriced. I haven't noticed until lately that i have alot of X merchandise in my room. For the past few years i managed to buy one glossy poster (which is on the bottom of my door, mind you.), two dvds, three volumes of manga (one which i bought for $30. Which was at the time 'cheap' Now they sell it for $10. Then again i bought it using a gift certificate), and two OSTs. Need not mention i took the risk during my English senior year of high school midterm exam. I had to write a personal response about how the past may effect a character in a novel, play, short story etc. Since it was a personal response and not the huge essay which counts for most of my marks, i decided to take the risk of writing about Tokyo Babylon and what happened to Subaru. This may sound strange, but while i was thinking about what i could write about for my "next" project/essay for this site, i got a brilliant idea while taking a shower and i had to rush out to write down all my thoughts before i forgot them. That took about an hour to write, however it was worth it. I also listen to "My Lover", Seishirou's image song, on repeat...manually (i don't know how to put on repeat on my cd player or my computer. I'm just that bad..sad actually) I can be more obsessed, but in this case i'm subtley obsessed and i hope to keep it that way.

The title, Ephemeral Love
Ephemeral Love is actually a title of a song from the X the movie OST. Although I have to admit that I don't like the CD very much, the titles "Intoxicating Blossoms" and "Ephemeral Love" kept on running through my mind while I was deciding what to name this site. If you think about it both names would work well for a Seishirou site. Anyway, I chose "Ephemeral Love" as the name of this site because well, first of all the word "Ephemeral" means 'to last for a short period of time'. Now, how does "love" last for a short period of time for Seishirou? If you recall in X, Seishirou's mother told Seishirou that he will be killed by the one he loves. Thus meaning that his love will be short lived because the one he loves will be the one that ends his life. Blah blah blah, that seriously didn't make sense but if you think about it, it does make sense.

Current Layout
I originally didn't intend to make a new layout until December however i "felt like making one" after listening to Somnia Memorias from the Parasite Eve soundtrack. The song, for me, is like a song from Subaru to Seishiriou. Since the song refers to past memories, i attempted to make this layout "old fashioned" but with a twist. The image of Seishirou is supposed to look like a photo with a faded cityscape background. Then there are labels to navigate through the site. The swiggly branches are supposed to signify growth in a vague sort of way. The reason why the site navigation is in Latin, it's because the parts of the song i thought had the most meaning was in Latin. Thus, i asked my friend for Latin words. Docire means "to inform", spectare means "to watch" and mortis means "death". I would love to put on the lyrics of Somnia Memorias here but it's too long, so please visit Parasite Eve.net for your Parasite Eve goodness including the lyrics in its original form and the translation. Other than that, this is my birthday gift to Ephermeral Love. I never do birthday layouts. And the background pattern is from Squidfingers.com.

Past Layouts

The coming soon layout

The first layout, also one of my favorites. This layout was finished with the help of my friend, Brandon. Without his help, that layout probably wouldn't be used.
