Daidouji Tomoyo is a wealthy and talented classmate who Sakura meets at school when she lends Tomoyo her eraser. The two hit if off right away and later discover they are actually cousins! With this in mind, to say Sakura and Tomoyo are friends would be an understatement. These two are attached at the hip; Sakura tells Tomoyo everything and trusts her with it. Tomoyo, on the other hand, is very perceptive, and - although she trusts Sakura - will keep some knowledge for the other girl to discover for herself, ultimately making Sakura stronger in the process. Sakura will do anything to help her friend, and virtually everything Tomoyo does is for the sake of Sakura; they truly are inseparable.
Tomoyo's view of her best friend is very different than that of the latter's of the former. Sakura sees Tomoyo as a companion - someone to confide in and a source of advice. Tomoyo, however, adores Sakura beyond the terms of "best friends". To Tomoyo, Sakura is above everyone else with her own pedestal separating her from the rest. In addition, Tomoyo will do anything to help that pedestal maintain its colossal height.
When Syaoran does not believe in Sakura's abilities, Tomoyo is there to cheer her on. Even after the rivals begin to see each other eye to eye, Tomoyo pours her heart into Sakura. Although she does not understand the extent of her friend's affections, Sakura is grateful and even proud to have Tomoyo's support. With a friendship like this, Sakura and Tomoyo are not to be broken apart any time soon.
