Tsukisiro Yukito is a close friend of Sakura's older brother, Touya. Because of their affectionate relationship, Yukito spends much of his time around the Kinomoto household, and coincidentally around Sakura. It is only a matter of time before Sakura begins to struggle with feelings beyond friendship, but is unable to distinguish what the emotions she feels are. Yukito is Sakura's first crush.
Throughout a majority of the series, Sakura does her best to please Yukito for the reward of being near him. When it winds down to confessing her feelings, he is patient with her, asking her to rethink her affections. Previously, she was oblivious to the fact that he loved her as a sister, and with thought she begins to see the her own feelings were family oriented.
Despite his kindness and her revelation, Sakura does suffer a broken heart. But with a little help from her friends, Sakura is able to get back on her feet.
Soon after, Sakura discovers what really fueled her attraction to the young man: Yukito is actually the false form of Yue, a powerful being created by Clow as a guardian. Although Yukito is a kind and caring individual, he also has incredible moon-based magic that even he is not aware of.
Yue is cold toward those around him, partially due to his loyalty to the late Clow Reed. He has trouble accepting Sakura even after she defeats him in a magical duel (known as "Yue's Judgment") and is caught off guard with her outright and friendly nature. Likewise, sakura struggles with Yue's formality and attitude. As she says herself, she wants to be his friend, not his mistress.
